Viewpoints: Don’t let insurers subvert health law

If health reform were the hero in a Western movie, this would be the moment when an angry mob threatens to hang it from a tree. Politicians are vowing to “defund” this year’s law, the Affordable Care Act, while running on a “repeal and replace” platform that’s big on “repeal” and vague on “replace.” They’ve filed lawsuits and even called the law “slavery.” Their position can be summarized in three words: “Hang ‘em high.”

Well, hold on there, pardner. Before we get all riled up let’s ask ourselves: Who wants to repeal this law, and why?
