The Valley’s Diana Dooley has a health-care mess on her hands
Fresno Bee

Governor-elect Jerry Brown made an excellent choice in naming Diana Dooley to lead the state’s massive Health and Human Services Agency. Dooley, 59, has the organizational skills to oversee the 12 departments and one board that provide services ranging from health care to mental health, as well as a variety of social services. Most importantly, Dooley is a steady voice in times of crisis, and health care in California, as elsewhere, is in crisis.

Dooley, who grew up in Hanford and later lived in Visalia, worked in Brown’s first administration as his legislative secretary.
