UnitedHealthcare is suing the Defense Department over a decision to award a lucrative military health benefits contract to competitor Humana. The complaint, filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, is the latest salvo in an ongoing saga over the right to provide health coverage to about 3 million active duty and retired members of the military and their families in 11 Southern states. The multi-year contract is worth up to $23 billion.
