UnitedHealth to loan $10M, give $1M to help California’s critical access hospitals
San Francisco Business Times

UnitedHealth Group, one of the nation’s and the Bay Area’s largest health plans, said Wednesday it will loan $10 million to help small rural hospitals in California improve their IT systems and adopt electronic health records. It will also provide $1 million in grants to get the process started. The funding will come from the giant health plan’s previously announced 20-year, $200 million California Health Care Investment Program, which is meant to help Golden State health care organizations that serve under-served populations gain access to capital.
