UCSF starts Mission Bay hospital project
San Francisco Business Times

UCSF’s planned $1.5 billion, 289-bed women’s, children’s and cancer hospital — a keystone of San Francisco’s redevelopment of Mission Bay — moves forward today with a formal groundbreaking for the 878,000-square-foot complex. Taking advantage of federal stimulus cash and the dropping construction costs recession, UCSF Medical Center CEO Mark Laret and other leaders of the University of California, San Francisco, will start the ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by a community celebration from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
