UCSF receives $10M grant to study “distressing” form of dementia

UC San Francisco has received a $10 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to start a major neuroimaging study of a degenerative brain disease, in conjunction with the Mayo Clinic. The fatal disease, known as frontotemporal dementia, “is at least as common as Alzheimer’s disease in people under age 60,” according to UCSF.
