UCSF names Sam Hawgood medical school dean
San Francisco Business Times - Chris Rauber

The University of California, San Francisco has named Dr. Sam Hawgood dean of the UCSF School of Medicine and vice chancellor for medical affairs, in an appointment reported Thursday to the UC Board of Regents. The appointment is effective immediately, UCSF said. Hawgood, 56, has been interim dean since late 2007, when he was named to fill the vacancy created by the termination of former Dean David Kessler, M.D., a former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
