UCSF nabs $112M from NIH for translational research

University of California, San Francisco ’s Clinical and Translational Science institute has won $112 million in renewed funding from the National Institutes of Health to “translate” science into bedside solutions for patients. The funding will be spread out over five years, UCSF said Monday. The San Francisco biomedical university is one of 10 institutes nationally to receive nearly $500 million in renewed funding, in recognition “of their successes during the first five years of the NIH’s Clinical and Translational Science Awards program,” UCSF officials said.
