UCLA study finds uninsured rolls grow in region

A new study published this week by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research says that 1 in 4 Californians younger than 65 is now without health insurance, an increase of roughly 1.6 million people since 2007. That news is no surprise to local hospital officials, who said they’re struggling to deal with the increase and the effect it’s having on their balance sheets.
