Modern Healthcare - The Associated Press

University of California, Irvine Medical Center officials acknowledged that the Orange, Calif. hospital received a warning from state inspectors regarding use of drug pumps that led to accidental overdoses of five patients. Officials with the 348-bed hospital said Thursday the state Department of Public Health issued an “immediate jeopardy” warning—one of the most serious that can be issued against a hospital — on July 13. It was lifted within a day.
