Tri-City posts $10.5 million shortfall in June

A Tri-City Healthcare District official said Monday that the public hospital district posted a $10.5 million loss for the month of June, but that much of the shortfall is coming to light because of a change in the way the hospital handles its accounting. Chief Financial Officer Alex Yu also said the district ended the 2009-10 fiscal year with a $18.5 million shortfall. He reported the losses to the district’s board of director’s at a meeting Thursday.
