Watsonville Community Hospital nurses plan to walk off the job at 6:45 a.m. today. When they’ll return is uncertain. Monday, the hospital issued a press release, saying the medical facility was prepared for a “three-day strike” by the California Nurses Association and that nurses wouldn’t return until 6:45 a.m. Friday. But nurses say they only plan to stay out for 24 hours in hopes of expediting lagging contract negotiations, and will be ready to go back to work at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
