San Jose Business Journal

The Palo Alto City Council is expected to approve permits and other details so Stanford University can begin expanding its medical facilities. The $3.5 billion project would increase space by 1.3 million square feet and take place over about 20 years. After four years of negotiations, Stanford will propose an agreement guaranteeing the city $8.1 million in “use and sales tax” from the purchase of construction-related materials and supplies.
