St. Rose Hospital lays off employees
Inside Bay Area

Financial struggles at St. Rose Hospital will force the hospital to lay off nearly 10 percent of its workforce. Michael Mahoney, the hospital’s chief executive, said the layoffs began with 25 employees Wednesday and likely will continue into October as the hospital deals with severe cash flow issues. The hospital has approximately 770 full-time-equivalent employees, and Mahoney estimates about 70 layoffs total — including eliminating the hospital’s skilled-nursing facility.
