They call it the sweet spot.

It’s the instant between contractions when the heart is not moving and an X-ray image can reveal blockage in arteries or other symptoms of disease. Pursuit of the moment is part of what drives hospitals and imaging centers to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars — or more — for CT scanners stamped by numbers called slices that indicate how fast they take images: 16, 32, 64, 128 and up.
