SRMC program helps cardiac patients learn healthy habits

This spring, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding will celebrate 30 years of assisting patients recover from heart procedures and adapt to healthier lifestyles in the north state.

The cardiac rehab center is a medically supervised program where heart patients undergo a 12-week curriculum that includes exercising on gym equipment and learning the associated risk factors such as smoking and cholesterol. Patients come into the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for hourlong sessions.
