Sonoma Index-Tribune

The Sonoma Valley Health Care District board of directors unanimously voted Thursday to implement the Electronic Health Record to bring Sonoma Valley Hospital up to competitive speed and avert penalties by achieving federal compliance by 2015. The Electronic Health Record, which puts medical information such as patients records and doctors’ prescriptions in digital form, was described as a federal requirement, a competitive necessity, a means for providing better quality care and an opportunity – if they proceed on time – to get the project practically paid for by federal stimulus funds.
