Sen. Max Baucus seeks health co-ops, not public plan

The chairman of the Senate Finance Committee unveiled his long-awaited health care reform bill Wednesday, an $856 billion measure that creates new health insurance exchanges but does not include a government-run plan. Instead, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., proposes allowing nonprofit cooperatives to offer alternatives to insurance company plans through the exchanges.
