Sacramento has highest smoking rate of any urban county in the state

Sacramento County residents are more likely to smoke than other urban counties, including Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, according to state public health officials who unveiled a new campaign Monday to get people to quit the habit.

Two years ago, 14 percent of adults in Sacramento County smoked cigarettes – compared with 10 percent in Alameda County, 10.4 percent in Los Angeles County and 11 percent in San Diego County.
