Ruling on insurance mandate draws swift reaction

The 44-page federal court decision out of Richmond, Va., that declared the individual insurance mandate in the landmark healthcare reform law unconstitutional, offered a broad enough analysis to give talking points to partisans on all sides of the debate. Republican critics of the reform law immediately seized on the chance to label the law “unconstitutional.” U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey, a Georgia physician and co-chairman of the GOP Doctor’s Caucus, issued a news release saying he applauds the “unconstitutional ruling of Obamacare.”
