Report finds growth in consumer-driven plans

Total assets in consumer-driven health plans grew to $7.1 billion last year, up from $835.4 million in 2006, according to a new report. The number of accounts also grew, totaling 5 million in 2009, up from 1.2 million accounts in 2006, according to the report from the nonpartisan Employee Benefit Research Institute.

Consumer-driven health plans include health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements.
