Repeal of Oak Valley CEO decision demanded
Modesto Bee

A government watchdog is demanding the Oak Valley Hospital District governing board overturn its decision to extend the chief executive officer’s contract because it violated the state’s open meeting law. The board extended CEO John Friel’s contract for an additional year at its Nov. 22 meeting. The meeting’s agenda stated only that there would be “discussion/action” on the CEO’s contract. It did not state the nature of the discussion or action that would be considered.
