Redlands Healthcare Center fills gap between hospital, home
San Bernardino Sun

Keith Thacker saw Redlands Healthcare Center for the first time on Monday. Thacker had stayed at the facility Jan. 22 to Feb. 23 after he was referred by the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Medical Center in Loma Linda. He had been rendered blind by diabetes and had suffered two strokes.

“I remember telling (the social worker), `I don’t want to go to a convalescent home,”‘ said Thacker, 55, a Navy veteran who lives in Apple Valley. “She kept reassuring me.”
