Quiet campaigns mark PPH board race
North County Times

Though there are big issues on the horizon in the Palomar Pomerado Health district —- including a hospital project that is several hundred million dollars over budget —- the race for four seats on the hospital board has been relatively low-key, with one challenger and four incumbents running on the Nov. 2 ballot. Some say the quiet campaign could signal contentment within the district and excitement over its $940 million “hospital of the future” now rising from a hilltop that overlooks I-15 and Highway 78 in western Escondido. (In 2004, the district estimated the project would cost $753 million.)
