Patients say fighting infection should be priority

Patients overwhelmingly support the need for better infection-prevention programs, especially when they are provided with data about the scope and severity of problems such as sepsis and healthcare-associated infections, according to research from the Washington-based Partnership for Quality Care.

Formed in 2007, the Partnership for Quality Care is a not-for-profit group whose members include healthcare organizations and labor unions representing healthcare workers.
