Officials offer no timeline on reform regs

Senior federal healthcare officials refused to offer timelines for the issuance of a series of much-anticipated regulations aimed at implementing provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Steve Larsen, deputy administrator and director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight at the CMS, speaking to the annual meeting of America’s Health Insurance Plans, declined to specify the expected completion timeframes for overdue regulations related to accountable care organizations, insurance medical loss ratios and broker fees under the law.
