Not-for-profit hospitals saw no admissions growth in ‘09, Moody’s says

A Moody’s Investors Service report has found that not-for-profit hospitals saw the rate of growth in patient admissions fall in 2009, marking the first year-to-year decline since the ratings agency began tracking the data in 1991. According to the report, “Flat Admissions Put Pressure on Not-for-Profit Hospitals,” the median admissions growth rate at not-for-profit hospitals dropped to -0.02% in 2009 compared with 1.03% in 2008.
