The National Labor Relations Board, the federal agency that oversees labor issues and elections, announced details Monday afternoon of the upcoming union-representation election at Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest employers and health systems in Northern California. The agency said more than 40,000 Kaiser employees will be involved in the tally. The two unions battling for their votes say the total is approximately 44,000, and say the election will be one of the largest union elections in decades.
