The National Patient Safety Foundation, a Boston-based not-for-profit organization, announced plans to launch a new membership program for patient-safety professionals. The new program, known as the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety at NPSF, will start in January 2011 and will provide members with opportunities to meet one another and share best practices, according to a news release. Membership is open to patient safety officers, but is also available to medical students, providers, those involved in measuring quality and risk, and safety advocates.
