New ICU, emergency rooms open at Wildomar hospital

An expanded emergency room and a new intensive care unit are now open at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, more than two years after they were built.

An expansion of 26 emergency room beds, including four to be used for triage and four for urgent care, was put into use Wednesday morning.

A new 11-bed Intensive Care Unit opened Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement from Southwest Healthcare System, which runs Inland Valley and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.
