Monterey hospital to lay off 43 people Thursday
The Mercury News

Nearly four dozen people who work at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula will be losing their jobs Thursday. The Monterey Herald reports that because of cost-cutting moves, 43 nurses, nutritionists, lab workers and security personnel will be laid off. The layoffs come after hospital officials had announced during the summer that job cuts would be coming because previous cost-cutting efforts had fallen short.
