Lompoc hospital participates in bomb scenario

A group of Lompoc Valley Medical Center nurses and workers milled outside the ER entrance Thursday morning, in spite of the chilly gray fog that hid the sun. A statewide drill to test the coordination and response capabilities of hospitals and medical services was about to begin and the staff was busy setting up a triage tent to handle the possible influx of patients. The drill scenario included a possible terrorist bombing in nearby Santa Ynez, with an unknown number of injured headed their way.
