Legislators resist Mt. Diablo Health Care District lobbying
The Mercury News

The embattled Mt. Diablo Health Care District unsuccessfully lobbied two California legislators to intervene in efforts to shut its doors. Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla and state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier, both of Concord, say they will not sign a district-drafted letter requesting an attorney general’s opinion of a dissolution option under discussion. The Contra Costa Local Agency Formation Commission, which has jurisdiction over city and other local agency boundaries, is expected Wednesday to either disband the health care district or recommend the formation of a Concord-led subsidiary zone that would take over its duties.
