Layoffs hit Oxnard hospital with more cuts possible
Ventura County Star

A wave of layoffs hit St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard on Wednesday with, according to a union leader, more possible cuts being discussed. St. John’s officials didn’t specify details, except to say fewer than a dozen positions were eliminated affecting management and other non-union employees. Hospital spokeswoman Rita O’Connor said administrators are also talking with unions about “a broad range of options” to deal with lower patient volume and decreasing revenue as part of a financial crunch hitting the health care industry.
