LA County raises property tax rate to help pay for ER, trauma care
Long Beach Press-Telegram

Property owners will pay a few more dollars in taxes this year to help offset the rising cost of emergency and trauma care in Los Angeles County.

County leaders Tuesday raised the property tax rate for Measure B, passed in 2002, as much as legally allowed – about 27-hundredths of a cent. For a 1,500-square-foot home, that amounts to a $4.05 annual increase, for a total Measure B assessment of 0.0399 cents per square foot of assessed value, or about $60.
