The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a $1.175 million settlement to a patient at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center whose blood vessel was pierced by a catheter. The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday that Amber Dunn sued the county after she was hospitalized at the medical center after a car accident in 2008. During a diagnostic procedure, the wall of a blood vessel was accidentally punctured and resulted in further complications.
