The Mercury News

Los Angeles County is expanding its health care coverage for the uninsured by enrolling hundreds of thousands of new recipients. The Los Angeles Times says the county hopes to register as many as 550,000 patients for free services at county medical clinics under a program dubbed Healthy Way L.A. The county is preparing for President Obama’s health care overhaul that will make more uninsured Californians eligible for Medicaid starting in 2014.
