Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center has been verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.

A Level II Trauma Center is the physician group’s second-highest designation, meaning the center can treat most trauma patients that come to the emergency room. The only Level I Trauma Center in the region is UC Davis Medical Center. Other Level II Trauma Centers verified by the ACS are Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael and Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville.
