Kaiser Permanente, CHW contribute $3.5M to California healthy-food fund

Two of Northern California’s leading health care systems, Kaiser Permanente and Catholic Healthcare West , are contributing $3.5 million to a $200 million combination investment/loan fund that will promote access to healthy food for poor residents of the Golden State. Oakland’s Kaiser Permanente is contributing $1 million in grant funding and San Francisco-based CHW is contributing a $2.5 million investment, the health care giants said in separate statements.
