Kaiser nurses in L.A. poised to strike
Sacramento Business Journal

More than 1,000 registered nurses at Kaiser Permanente’s flagship Los Angeles Medical Center are poised for a one-day strike Wednesday. Members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers notified Kaiser management Feb. 16 of an intent to strike if hospital management continued to refuse to bargain in good faith. An NUHW strike in Southern California is important in Sacramento because about 1,500 behavioral health and optical workers in Northern California are also in contract negotiations with Kaiser.
