Kaiser Lifts Beam on New Hospital
San Leandro Times

The new Kaiser San Leandro Medical Center is shaping up – the final beam of the building’s frame was put into place in a ceremony last Friday. Before being hoisted in place, the beam was signed by dozens of city and Kaiser workers, including Mayor Stephen Cassidy and Kaiser Chief of Staff Dr. Robert Greenberg. The new six-story, 425,000-square-foot hospital located at the former Lucky distribution site next to I-880 will have 264 beds, 10 operating rooms, a 40-bed emergency room, and a maternity ward.
