Kaiser leader focused on prevention
The Press-Enterprise

Kaiser Permanente has been preparing for its future in the Inland region — which will undoubtedly come with more patients — and those patients should be just as proactive about their own health, said Greg Christian, executive director of the nonprofit’s Fontana and Ontario medical centers.

In a region that has distinct needs — a propensity for obesity and lacking insurance — Christian said Kaiser Permanente will continue to focus on preventive care in addition to treatment, especially now that health care reform will allow for incentives for keeping illness at bay before it needs to be treated.
