Inland-area uninsured set to gain access through county care
The Press-Enterprise

Officials in Riverside and San Bernardino counties intend to get ahead of federal regulations that take effect in 2014 and begin enrolling thousands of uninsured Inland-area residents in government health care programs as soon as this summer.

Both counties have applied for a federal health program that would pay them 50 cents for every $1 they spend treating low-income patients who do not qualify for Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program for poor, elderly and disabled residents.
