Hospitals back extending fees
Sacramento Business Journal

California hospitals support Gov. Jerry Brown’s state budget proposal to extend a fee on themselves to generate more federal funding for health care services for the poor, but it’s not such a good deal for Kaiser Permanente. The proposed six-month extension is expected to generate more than $1 billion. The state would get $160 million of that to fund child health programs without tapping state coffers. Hospitals would get about $874 million.
