Hospital provides base for support networks

Phyllis Bright remembers hiking, dancing and fishing before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a decade ago.

Now she tires after walking one city block. Several years back, her left eye went blind.

“It’s a very scary thing to be diagnosed. It changes your life dramatically,” Bright said.

Later this month, the group she founded, Nevada County Multiple Sclerosis Self-Help Group, will move to its new meeting location at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
