Hospital PPI rises 0.2% in June; doc-office prices flat

Wholesale acute-care hospital prices increased 0.2% in June after the prior month’s rise of 0.1%, according to preliminary figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The agency’s Producer Price Index for acute-care hospitals in June 2010 was 0.1%. Wholesale acute-care hospital prices climbed 1.8% during the 12-month period ended in June compared with 3.4% the year before. For physician offices, the wholesale prices were flat last month compared with a 0.1% increase in May, the preliminary figures show.
