Hospital CPI rises 0.7% in April

Consumer prices for hospital services increased 0.7% in April after climbing 0.2% in March, according to the latest seasonally adjusted figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The index for hospital consumer prices rose by 0.3% in April 2010. For the 12-month period last month, the index increased by 5.9% for hospital services compared with 7.9% a year ago. Inpatient hospital consumer prices increased 0.6% last month and the outpatient hospital consumer price index climbed 0.7%.
