HMO watchdog official is leaving state post

Cindy Ehnes, California’s chief overseer of health maintenance organizations, will not seek reappointment as director of the state’s Department of Managed Health Care. She is expected to step down in March, according to agency spokeswoman, Lynne Randolph. The agency’s director serves at the pleasure of the Governor’s Office, and Gov. Jerry Brown will need to find a replacement for the crucial post.
