Hip replacement patients praise anterior approach to the surgery
Redding Record Searchlight

Uwe Zambrano (pronounced Oova) has learned a few things about hip replacement surgery. After all, he has had three. The first, in 1999, was a posterior approach to replace the hip on his left side. Three years later the surgery had to be repeated due to a manufacturer recall.

When it came time to do the right hip, Zambrano, 49, was looking for something new. He found it with Dr. Shawn Brubaker, Mercy Medical Center’s medical director of their Center for Hip and Knee Replacement.
