Modern Healthcare

Donations to not-for-profit hospitals and health systems increased 8% in 2010, or $620 million, but healthcare providers spent more to raise funds, the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy found. Last year’s rate of increase in donations was the largest since 2006, according to a news release announcing the results of the association’s annual survey. Nonetheless, the survey found, the median funds raised for every fundraising dollar spent dropped by 4% to $3.05. And 33 cents of every dollar raised was spent on fundraising.
